Kai Feng

Kai, a Longo Lexus Guest Relations Representative, began working at Longo in December of 2011 as an intern. Since then, he completed his first triathlon at the 2012 Nautica Malibu Triathlon, and will participate in his second race at the 2012 Day at the Beach Triathlon. Kai participates on a relay team, in both the swim and running legs. His busy schedule with school and work requires him to train at night or early in the morning, which has helped improve Kai's self-motivation to complete his workouts. Kai believes this is a great opportunity for Team Longo, and says "I encourage everyone to do some sort of workout during the week, even if it is just two or three days out of the week. Participating in any triathlon or sporting event would encourage on to work out and stay healthy!"

Sergio Orozco

Sergio has worked in the Longo Lexus Sales Department since 2006, and has been participating with Team Longo in the Nautica Malibu Triathlon since 2007. This year, Sergio completed the entire race as a solo competitor. Sergio cares about the work of Children's Hospital Los Angeles and cites this as one of the main reasons he competes in the race. Staying healthy is also very important to him, and training for triathlons is a great way to keep fit.  He even gets his wife and kids to participate! Because his work day can be long and hectic, Sergio gets his training time early in the morning and enjoys doing it with his Longo teammates or a cycling group. When asked what the NMT means to him, Sergio says “I believe that what Longo has done is going to affect peoples’ lives in ways that I don’t think they could have imagined, and not just for me but those around me that have been infected with my race fever, and for that I am very grateful.”

Jennifer Nam

Jennifer has been working for Longo Lexus in the Service Department and competing in the Nautica Malibu Triathlon for six years. A natural athlete, she also participates in the Day at the Beach Tri, Longo Speed Racer events, and the Mud Run at the Rose Bowl each year. Jennifer competes with Team Longo as part of a relay team, and has participated in the swimming and running meet. When asked why she supports the NMT, Jennifer says that she is a big supporter of children-related charities, and NMT raises money for Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles. Jennifer is proud to be a member of Team Longo and to participate in the Nautica Malibu Tri, “I think it’s wonderful for Longo to help sponsor and raise money for different charities in the community and to encourage the employees to get involved and give back.”

Ed Perez

Ed has been a sales consultant for Longo Lexus for seven years, and has participated in the Nautica Malibu Tri for six years, racing individually. While he started doing the Tri as a challenge from his co-workers and management team, Ed truly enjoyed the athletic test and has been participating ever since to maintain a healthy weight and to raise money for "an awesome cause", CHLA. The biggest challenge Ed has overcome through participating in NMT is not quitting. Ed believes “We work for the Penske organization which thrives on being the very best (#1) and meeting every challenge head on regardless of the situation surrounding us. This Tri, for me, is just another challenge that every year becomes more difficult due to time restraints and other obligations, but we can’t make excuses, just keep striving and working hard.”

Jessica Becerra

Jessica has been a Longo employee for ten years, and currently works for the Longo Lexus Service Department. 2012 marked her fifth year competing in the Nautica Malibu Tri, and she is an active participant across many other Longo athletic events. Outside of Longo, Jessica is a busy wife and mother, resulting in multitasking to get in time for training sessions. As for why she does this triathlon, Jessica says “I like the ones that are with the company, it makes it more fun to be with those you work with. I participate because it’s such a great cause and I really like how our team comes together.”

Jeff Winiecke

Jeff has held a variety of positions at Longo Lexus over the past eight years, and is currently a Sales Consultant. This was his third time participating in the Nautica Malibu Triathlon, competing individually each time. Jeff’s training for the triathlon began in an effort to get back in shape after enduring ankle surgery, and has since participated in other triathlons and half marathons with Longo, training during the wee hours of the day and night. As an individual goal, Jeff would like to complete an Iron Man triathlon in the next few years, and says “My personal goal for Team Longo is to win the corporate challenge during the Malibu race. Every year we seem to be getting faster, and I think we can break the top 5 this year!”
