Lexus RX Safety Features
In 2016 the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety gave the 2016 Lexus RX the best possible scores in all crash tests, including small and moderate overlap, side, roof strength, and head restraint and seats. Its crash mitigation system also received superior scores. The 2016 RX earned the title of Top Safety Pick, as one of the best-rated Luxury SUVs, from the organization.
The Lexus crossover comes standard with electronic stability control, traction control, an anti-theft system, and a 10-standard airbag system covering the driver, passenger, side, and rear. Additionally, the RX comes with child safety locks and roadside assistance.
Premium safety options include a pre-collision safety system with pedestrian detection, a panoramic view monitor, and Lexus Enform Safety Connect.
BMW X5 Safety Features
The 2016 X5 has not been fully evaluated by the IIHS, but it received good scores in tests for moderate front overlap and side crash.
The X5 comes standard with an airbag system, seatbelts, child safety locks, and HID headlamps. Also, drivers can benefit from traction control, a security system, electronic stability control, and rear-view parking assistance.
Premium options on the all-new X5 include night vision and a backup camera.
Lexus RX Features
Standard on the 2016 Lexus RX is cruise control, auto-off headlamps, keyless start, universal garage door opener, climate control, and privacy glass. The all-new RX also comes with an impressive standard entertainment system for the serious listener, whether it’s Bach or Beyonce.
For the latest and greatest in technology, drivers may also opt for the Lexus Enform App Suite, voice command, Mark Levinson® Premium Surround System, deluxe navigation, and dual-screen rear entertainment system.
Drivers can also get a luggage rack, sun and moon roof, and trailer hitch receiver on premium models of the RX.
BMW X5 Features
The crossover from BMW offers standard intermittent wipers with variable speed, rain-sensing wipers, heated mirrors with memory, rear parking aid, a universal garage door opener, navigation, and a power liftgate. For entertainment, drivers can enjoy AM/FM radio, a CD player, and a Bang and Olufsen sound system for an upcharge.
Premium models of the X5 may also come with a rear-seat entertainment system, heated driver seat, leather seats, and a sunroof.
