Annia’s Kitchen is a brunch spot located at the San Gabriel Valley Airport. It’s open from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 a.m. Monday through Sunday, and it serves up Western-style and Mexican breakfast and lunch dishes. You’ll find traditional breakfast dishes such as bacon and eggs alongside pot roast and eggs and breakfast burritos. Mexican dishes include Huevos Rancheros, Chilaquiles con Huevos, Steak Picado con Huevos, and Machaca con Huevos. 

You’ll find the lunch options on a section of the menu known as Fresh-Mex Combos and Specialties. Here you’ll find Childe Verdo Burritos, Flautas, Chile Relleno and Enchilada, and Carne Asada Ala Tampiquena. It offers these options alongside traditional American dishes, which means there’s something for everyone on the menu. 

El Sombrero 

El Sombrero is a family-friendly restaurant serving authentic Mexican dishes made from family recipes. It also has a great reputation for its beer and wine options. The waitstaff is always happy to provide suggestions for dish and drink pairings. Start your meal from the appetizer menu offering Mexican-style fresh Shrimp Cocktails, Jalapeno Poppers, and Taquitos a la Mode. You can then move on to the dinner menu for selections including combination plates, Chicken Mole, Moms Burrito, Chimichanga Burrito, and more. There’s also gringo style for those who want to hang out but aren’t adventurous in their eating.

The restaurant is located at 3550 Santa Anita Ave. in El Monte and is open Tuesday through Friday at 10:30 a.m. and closes at 8:30 a.m. It’s open until 9:00 a.m. on Friday and Saturday and opens at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday. The restaurant is also dog-friendly, and you can bring your pooch to sit with you on the patio.

Teresa’s Mexican Grill

Teresa’s Mexican Grill combines scratch cooking with family recipes to create fresh and delightful dishes. The restaurant features daily specials that use seasonal ingredients that are locally sourced. It serves breakfast and lunch daily, with the breakfast menu offering items including Breakfast Torta, Heuvos a la Mexicana, Huevos con Nopales, and Mole Chilaquiles. The lunch menu has offerings such as a California Burrito, Torto Mojada, and Torta a Tu Gusto lunches. Appetizers are also on offer. 

The restaurant is located in the Southern California Medical Center in El Monte and is open every day except Wednesday. It’s open from 8 a.m. to 5 pm on Saturday, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday, and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on all other days. 

Tepeyac Restaurant & Tequila Sports Bar

Tepeyac Restaurant & Tequila Sports Bar is in the City of Industry and is worth making the trip for a meal. The restaurant offers a top-shelf tequila selection, a casual atmosphere that’s great for watching sports with your family or friends, and Mexican cuisine that’s full of house specials and classic dishes. Check out the Lola Bowl, otherwise known as a classic burrito without a tortilla. Each bowl option contains traditional burrito ingredients. You can also choose to get traditional burritos in the tortilla. The restaurant also offers a Lent menu for those who are observant. 

Tepeyac Restaurant & Tequila Sports Bar is in the City of Industry at 13131 Crossroads Parkway South. It’s closed on Mondays and open from 11:00 am to 8:00 pm Tuesday through Thursday. The hours for Friday and Saturday are 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Sunday from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. A traditional Mexican breakfast menu is available daily and served from opening to close.

Don Tony Restaurant & Catering

Don Tony Restaurant & Catering may not be the fanciest of destinations, but it’s one of the best when it comes to Mexican dishes that transport you south of the border. Made from scratch, the menu includes dishes such as Mojarra Frita, Filete Ranchera, Camarones Costa Azul, Ensalada de Pollo, and other classic Mexican dishes. A cheeseburger with fries is on the menu for those who have less adventurous tastes but are ordering with others. A breakfast menu is available all day long and includes dishes such as Omelette de Queso, French toast, and Huevos Revueltos, among others. 

Don Tony Restaurant & Catering has two locations: an El Monte location at 3850 Baldwin Ave., which is a taqueria, and a Baldwin Park location, which is a full-service restaurant. The El Monte location is open at 7:00 a.m. Monday through Saturday and 8:00 a.m. on Sunday. It’s open until 11:00 p.m. most Sundays through Thursday and until midnight on Fridays and Saturdays.
