Performance
The ES 300h, 300h Luxury, and 300h Ultra Luxury trims are powered by a 2.5-liter inline four-cylinder engine paired with an electric motor and a continuously variable transmission. A front-wheel drivetrain and paddle shifters, for a more responsive performance, come standard, while the Normal, Sport, Eco, and EV driving modes are utilized to alter the overall responsiveness and efficiency. The powertrain generates a total system of 215-hp and achieves an estimated 45 mpg on the highway and 43 mpg of city driving, as well as an estimated 581-mile total driving range. The ES 300h’s regenerative-braking system helps recharge the 1.6-kWh nickel-metal hydride battery pack.
